Chili pepper japchae is a Chinese food called Qingjiaoroutsu (青椒肉丝) in Chinese. It is a dish in which thin and long sliced pork is fried with red pepper or green pepper. It goes well with flower bun and goes well with white rice. Today, I’ll make chili japchae using green pepper. The flower bun is a frozen commercial product.

Put the flower bun in the steamer and steam for 5-6 minutes. Place a cotton cloth under the steamer. Cover the lid of the steamer with a cotton cloth. The reason is to prevent water droplets from forming on the flower bread.

- Pork (Thin Sliced) 300g, Flower Bun (Market), Green Bell Pepper 2ea, Green onion 1ea, 1 tablespoon chopped garlic, 1 teaspoon pepper, 1 tablespoon sugar, 2 tablespoons starch, 1 tablespoon chicken powder, egg white, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons red pepper oil, 1 tablespoon of cooking wine, cooking oil
Instructions
- 1. Put the flower bun in the steamer and steam for 5-6 minutes. Place a cotton cloth under the steamer. Cover the lid of the steamer with a cotton cloth. The reason is to prevent water droplets from forming on the flower bread.
- 2. Remove the green pepper and cut it long and thin. Also remove the inner seeds. Then cut green onions.
- 3. Add 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 teaspoon pepper, 2 teaspoons starch, and egg white to the prepared pork and mix well. Add enough oil and fry the pork. Fry without clumping together. After frying it, put it in a separate bowl on one side.
- 4. Add 2 tablespoons of chili oil. Add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and green onions and fry. Add chopped green bell pepper and fry. Then add pork and fry it together. Add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of cooking wine, and 1 tablespoon of chicken powder, and stir-fry while mixing all the ingredients well.
- 5. Put it on a plate with the steamed flower bread and it’s done.

Delicious chili japchae is completed. It is similar to the taste of authentic Chinese. The spicy chili japchae wrapped in flower bun is really sweet. It goes well with flower bun, but it’s really good to put it on rice and eat it as a bowl. I really recommend chili japchae that can be made simply.
