KOREAN BRAISED RADISH WITH FRESHWATER SHRIMP

If you braise the radish with seasonings such as red pepper powder and soy sauce, it becomes a delicious braised radish. Today, I’ll add freshwater shrimp to make a cleaner and refreshing braised radish.

1/2 radish, 150g freshwater shrimp, 1/2 green onion, 2 cheongyang pepper, 3 vietnamese pepper, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, 1 teaspoon minced ginger, 1 tablespoon plum juice, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 sugar Tablespoons, 2 tablespoons of fish sauce, 2 tablespoons of red pepper powder, 1 teaspoon of spicy red pepper powder, 2 tablespoons of mirin, 1/2 tablespoon of red pepper paste, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, a little salt, a little pepper, 800 ml of water

Cut the radish into about 2~3cm thick, then cut it in half like a half-moon shape. Cut the onions into large pieces and cut the green onions and cheongyang pepper.

1 tablespoon chopped garlic, 1 teaspoon chopped ginger, 1 tablespoon plum liquid, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sugar, 2 tablespoons fish sauce, 2 tablespoons red pepper powder, 1 teaspoon spicy red pepper powder,
Add 2 tablespoons of mirin and 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper paste and mix well to make seasoning.

Add the cut radish, pour 800 ml of water and  boil. If you prick the radish in the middle and enter it easily, the radish is cooked well.
When the radish is cooked, add freshwater prawns and the sliced onion, green onion, and cheongyang pepper. Then, add 3 Vietnamese peppers, a little pepper, a little salt, and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, and boil it for a delicious braised radish.

It tastes fantastic when eaten with rice. It is enough to just eat braised radish without any other side dishes. Freshwater prawns are added to give it a really clean and refreshing taste. It is very delicious even if it is braised with only radish without fish. The seasoning is little spicy but very addictive and taste is excellent.
